General Motors Co. has begun construction of a $30 million reduced-scale wind tunnel at its technical center in Warren, Mich.

The facility will increase GM's capacity for reduced-scale testing by 50%. GM says the new wind tunnel will feature a moving ground plane to simulate a wide range of driving conditions and enable more accurate aerodynamic testing.
