Ghosn to Head ACEA

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has been elected president of auto industry group ACEA, effective immediately.

He succeeds Philippe Varin, former CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroen, who was elected to the post at the end of last year.

ACEA said at the time that Varin, who was been succeeded at PSA by Carlos Tavares three months ago, would head the 15-member group until he left PSA.

Ghosn also served as ACEA's president in 2009.
