Ghosn Collects Record-High Compensation as Nissan CEO
Carlos Ghosn earned a personal record 1.1 million yen ($9.8 million) in compensation as CEO of Nissan Motor Co. during the fiscal year that ended March 31.
Carlos Ghosn earned a personal record 1.1 million yen ($9.8 million) in compensation as CEO of Nissan Motor Co. during the fiscal year that ended March 31.
His earnings rose 27 million yen ($240,300) from the previous 12-month period. Ghosn resigned as CEO in April but will continue as Nissan's chairman. Ghosn also is CEO of Renault SA and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
Nissan’s net profit in fiscal 2016 jumped 27% to a record 664 billion yen ($5.9 billion) in fiscal 2016. Results were buoyed by the sale last November of Nissan’s 41% stake in supplier Calsonic Kansei to New York City-based private equity firm KKR & Co. for 207 billion yen ($1.8 billion).
