Volkswagen AG has signed an agreement with several compressed natural gas groups to expand the availability and use of the fuel in Germany.
The pact is a follow-up to last year’s Round Table for Natural Gas Mobility initiative that calls for expanding Germany’s CNG fueling station network from 900 locations today to 2,000 by 2025. VW and other carmakers hope to have 1 million CNG vehicles on the road in Germany by that time, which would be a tenfold increase from the current fleet.
