Quarterly revenue for the Zeeland, Mich.-based automotive mirror maker climbed 26% to $327 million, as unit shipments of its mirrors grew 17%.
The company attributes results to increased vehicle production, tight control over operating expenses and its acquisition last September of the in-car HomeLink remote garage door opener system from Johnson Controls Inc.
Gentex's full-year net earnings grew 32% to $223 million. Sales advanced 7% to $1.1 billion. Gross profit margin reached 36.8%, up 2.9 points from 2012, on a richer product mix and lower purchasing costs.
