German tuner Gembella GmbH, which specializes in ultra-high-performance McLaren and Porsche variants, hopes to find investors to help it develop its own hypercar.
Gembella, which released an image of the proposed vehicle this week, aims to unveil a prototype next year and launch sales by as early as 2022.

CEO Steffan Korbach envisions the unnamed model as one of the last “pure sports cars.” Target performance specs call for a stand-alone piston engine that generates 800 hp and can rocket the vehicle from zero to 62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds—which is comparable to Gembella’s latest Porsche 911-based model.
The sleek racer will have a lightweight carbon fiber construction and feature advanced aerodynamics, according to the carmaker. Gembella says it also is considering future models that could be powered by hybrid or fully electric powertrains.
Uwe Gemballa, who founded the carmaker in 1981, was murdered in South Africa in 2010. Korbach and other investors took over the company in 2015 and have since injected $17 million into the business.
