Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. will begin assembling Subaru Forester SUVs in Malaysia by early 2016, according to The Nikkei.
The newspaper says FHI aims for initial annual output of 10,000 Foresters. The plant also will double output of Subaru XV crossover vehicles, which it began building two years ago, to 10,000 units.
The cars will be assembled at a factory operated by local partner Tan Chong Group and sold throughout southeast Asia, The Nikkei says.
