General Motors Co. has announced a new batch of small recalls. They bring the company's total for the year to date to 33 campaigns and 15.9 million vehicles worldwide.
The latest global recalls include:
- 69,500 model 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado LD and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks, 2015 model Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs and 2015 model Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs. Affected vehicles are equipped with a base radio that fails to sound a chime if the seatbelts aren't fastened or the key is left in the ignition when the driver's door opens. Dealers will reprogram the radio's control module.
- 36,000 of the company's 2012 Buick Verano and Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic cars to fix a shorting bar that may prevent the driver's airbag from deploying when it should.
- 61 model 2013-2014 Chevrolet Spark minicars and 2013 model Buick Encore small crossovers with an airbag packaging defect that could interfere with proper deployment of the passenger's frontal airbag.
- 33 model 2014 Chevrolet Corvettes to replace a flawed sensing and diagnostic module that can short-circuit and disable the front airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and automatic occupancy sensing module.
