John Bozzella has been named president and CEO of the Assn. of Global Automakers, a Washington, D.C.-based coalition of European and Asian carmakers and suppliers.

John Bozzella has been named president and CEO of the Assn. of Global Automakers, a Washington, D.C.-based coalition of European and Asian carmakers and suppliers. He starts his new assignment on April 1.

Bozella previously held public policy and communications posts at Ford and Chrysler and most recently was part of Cerberus Operations and Advisory Co. He succeeds Mike Stanton, who is retiring after heading the group for seven years.

The AGA represents the U.S. interests of foreign carmakers, their overseas-based suppliers and auto-related trade associations.
