Former Chevy Exec Dewar Joins NASCAR
Brent Dewar, a former general manager of General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet unit, will become chief operating officer at NASCAR on Jan. 6.
Brent Dewar, a former general manager of General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet unit, will become chief operating officer at NASCAR on Jan. 6.
Dewar also headed GM sales and marketing in Europe in 2008-2009 before leaving the company in early 2010. He has been a consultant since then to clients that have included the NASCAR.
Attendance and television ratings for NASCAR racing events have been slipping for years. CEO Brian France says he will be able to focus on "the vision for NASCAR" after Dewar steps in to handle operations.
