Ford Motor Co. reports it sold 87,700 vehicles in China last month compared with 90,400 units in May 2016. Year-to-date deliveries are down 11%.

There were plenty of bright spots in last month’s results. Sales by Jiangling Motor Corp. climbed 15% to a record 22,000 units. Demand for Ford’s performance line of cars more than doubled. Deliveries of imported vehicles rose 9% to 1,600. And the company’s newly launched Lincoln luxury brand saw deliveries jump 73% to 4,100 units.

But sales by Changan Ford Automobile fell 12% to 59,300 cars in May. Ford says it has “strengthened” its marketing plan for the second quarter with new sales incentives.
