The carmaker, which was one of more than half a dozen major brands to skip last month’s Paris auto show, says the timing of the Geneva show in March doesn’t coincide with its 2019 product launch schedule.
Ford is expected to introduce a new Focus ST sedan and facelifted version of the Mondeo/Fusion sedan later next year.
Ford and other carmakers have been turning to private and alternative events—such as England’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K.—in place of expensive traditional auto shows. Volvo also plans to skip the Geneva show.
Ford officials tell England’s Autocar that the company expects to return to Geneva in future years.
