Ford Motor Co. confirms it will invest $200 million in its Cleveland Engine Plant to begin making 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines there by the end of next year.
Ford currently imports those engines from its factory in Valencia, Spain, for use in seven of the company's models sold in North America.
The Spanish facility will continue to supply 2.0-liter engines for the European market and will ship components to the Cleveland factory. Ford says it will transfer some engine workers to its nearby assembly plant in Valencia, which is boosting production, but no jobs will be lost.
