Ford Sales Soar 53% in China

Ford Motor Co. delivered 94,500 vehicles to dealer in China last month compared with 62,600 in January 2013.

Monthly passenger car sales, including imported models, jumped 63% to 72,600 units. The locally produced Ford Focus sedan accounted for half the total.

The company's Changan Ford Automobile carmaking venture contributed 70,000 sales in January. Ford's Jiangling Motor Corp. commercial vehicle partnership boosted sales 28% to 21,900 units. Imported models accounted for the balance.
