Ford Sales Climb 14% in China

Ford’s total consists of imported vehicles and cars, SUV/crossovers and commercial vehicles built locally by the company’s Changan Ford Automobile and Jiangling Motors joint ventures. The company says growth was spurred by strong demand for its Edge crossover, Explorer SUV, Taurus large sedan and Lincoln brand luxury vehicles.
Changan Ford, the company’s carmaking venture, posted sales of 957,500 units in 2016, up 14%. December sales for the partnership rose 19% to 115,700 units.
Jiangling Motors reports that deliveries of its commercial vehicles climbed 7% to 265,100 units last year, including a 28% increase to 32,200 units in December.
