Ford Rolls Out Two-Year Warranty on Parts

Ford Motor Co. is now guaranteeing its Ford and Motorcraft service parts for two years and unlimited mileage.

The previous warranty was for 12 months or 12,000 miles, and it applied only if the original component was installed at a Ford or Lincoln dealership.

The new program covers replacement parts regardless of where they are installed. If the work is performed by a dealer, Ford will replace a defective part at no charge, including labor and any towing expenses.

If the component was originally installed at an independent garage or fleet maintenance facility, Ford will cover the replacement part and as much as $150 of labor costs but not towing.

Do-it-yourselfers would get a free replacement part for as long as two years if the original component fails.
