Ford Motor Co. is preparing to launch a high-powered Mustang Shelby GT500 next year.

The vehicle’s supercharged V-8 engine is expected to generate more than 700 hp, which would make it the carmaker’s most-powerful street-legal production model—and twice as powerful as the original 1967 Mustang performance model. The current Mustang Shelby GT350 makes 526 hp.

Ford teased the vehicle in a video on Monday night in conjunction with the Detroit auto show. The Shelby GT500 is one of 12 new performance vehicles Ford plan to introduce by the end of the decade.
