Ford Motor Co. is recalling 2018 model pickup trucks and large SUVs in North America to repair a loose cable that could allow the transmission to be in a different gear than the one selected by the driver.

The campaign targets 337,400 of the company’s 2018 model Expedition SUVs and F-150 fullsize pickup trucks with 10-speed automatic transmissions, and 2018 model F-650 and F-750 heavy-duty pickups with 6-speed automatics.

Ford says a clip that secures the shift cable to the gearbox could detach. If so, the vehicle could end up in Neutral when the driver shifts to Park, thereby allowing the truck to roll away unexpectedly. If the condition develops, there would be no warning chime or dashboard light to indicate the transmission wasn’t locked as intended.

Ford says 84% of the affected trucks are in the U.S. and its territories. Another 51,700 units are in Canada, and 2,800 are in Mexico.
