Ford Motor Co. says the 2018 F-Series Super Duty pickup truck has best-in-class horsepower, torque, towing and payload.

The truck’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine has received several upgrades to help boost output. Ford says redesigned cylinder heads will provide added strength under higher loads, while fuel and turbo boost calibrations have been optimized to take advantage of the increased cylinder head capacity.

As a result, the engine’s output has been increased by 10 hp and a like amount of torque to 450 hp and 935 lb-ft, respectively. The 2018 model can tow 21,000 lbs with a conventional hitch and 34,000 lbs with an integrated gooseneck setup. Payload capacity is listed at 7,630 lbs.

Updated specifications haven’t been provided about the truck’s 6.2-liter V-8 or 6.8-liter V-10 diesel engines.

Ford is adding a rear-wheel-drive dualie version of the F-450 pickup to the Super Duty lineup. The 2018 models with the Power Stroke diesel go on sale this month, starting at $43,200 for the 2wd F-250, $44,300 for the F-350 and $52,800 for the 4x2 F-450.
