Mustang Mach-E will be the name of the new all-electric crossover vehicle Ford Motor Co. unveils on Nov. 17.

The occasion will mark the first time Ford has used the Mustang marque on anything other than a sport coupe.

The carmaker has described the EV as “Mustang-inspired” since it announced the program in early 2018. At that time, Ford teased the name Mach 1, which has been used on several high-performance Mustangs over the years. The company appeared to back off following strong criticism on social media.

Ford will unveil the Mustang Mach-E ahead of next week’s Los Angels auto show. The company will then allow would-be customers to make a $500 refundable reservation deposit for a limited First Edition model. Deliveries will begin in late 2020.
