Ford Motor Co. has suspended operations of an engine line in England that builds V-8s for Jaguar Land Rover Ltd., Autocar reports.
The facility in Bridgend supplies the powerplants for Jaguar F-Type sports cars and top-end Range Rover models made at JLR’s Solihull factory. Output of 4-cylinder engines for Ford’s own cars is not affected.
Last week JLR began a two-week shutdown at the Solihull facility because of a 50% drop in sales in China. Autocar notes that several other JLR suppliers in Wales also have cut production as a result.
