The company says new moms and dads can take another 10 days off in the first year after their child’s birth or adoption. For mothers, the time is in addition to 6-8 weeks of maternity leave.
Ford says the policy change is part of an effort to adopt a more holistic approach to individual well-being. Other changes involve equipping its headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., with ergonomically designed workstations and “reflection rooms” for meditation or prayer.
