Ford Motor Co. raised its dividend for the first quarter of 2014 to 12.5 cents per share from 10 cents, citing increased liquidity.
The company says the dividend hike for common and Class B stock reflects strong 2013 results. Last year Ford increased its liquidity by $3 billion in the first three quarters and posted 14 consecutive quarters of positive automotive-related cash flow.
Ford restored its quarterly dividend at 5 cents per share in the first quarter of 2012 and doubled it a year later. The 12.5-cent dividend is payable March 3 to shareholders of record on Jan. 31. The Class B shares give the Ford family 40% voting power.
