Two days of heavy rains in Ontario forced Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV to idle its minivan plant in Windsor, Ont. late Tuesday.

The storms flooded access roads to the facility. A photo posted on a Facebook account shows parts of the factory floor under about one inch of standing water. The company told Automotive News it hoped to resume production overnight, but new thunderstorms were expected to cross the region Tuesday evening.

The Windsor plant is FCA’s sole source for its two minivan models, the Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Grand Caravan. The facility normally builds about 1,400 vehicles per day.
