Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV says all the 2018 model 500 minicars it sells in the U.S. will come equipped with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces at least one-third more power than last year’s models.

The boost system features a single turbocharger and twin intercoolers. Output climbs to 135 hp from 101 hp. Torque jumps to 150 lb-ft from 98 lb-ft for last year’s naturally aspirated 1.4-liter four-banger. Engines in the Fiat 500 Abarth model are tweaked to deliver 160 hp and 183 lb-ft of torque.

All versions of the 500 coupe for 2018 will come with a standard backup camera, sport spoiler, 16-inch wheels and performance suspension and brakes. This year’s turbos will be mated to a standard 5-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic transmission.

Customers can order the cars now. FCA says deliveries will begin to reach U.S. dealers in the second quarter of the year.

The 160-hp engine also is standard on the 2018 model 500L, which offers 42% more interior space than the 500 coupe. The 500L also sports new front and rear fascia and redesigned wheels.

The standard 500X crossover variant comes with the 150-hp turbocharged engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 2.4-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine is optional and will be mated to a 9-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive.
