Fiat Revises First-Quarter Loss

Fiat SpA says accounting changes related to its acquisition of Chrysler Group LLC have reduced its first-quarter net loss to €173 million from the €319 million it reported originally.

The adjustment came from comparing the estimated settle price with actual fair value for Chrysler call options exercised by Fiat before the acquisition.

Fiat says the difference resulted in a noncash gain of 223 million. The adjustment has no effect on the company's cash and net equity.
