Fiat plans to produce five new models in the next two years as it seeks to return to profitability in the Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Alfredo Altavilla, Fiat's head of the EMEA region, tells Corriere della Serra the carmaker will add more iterations of the 500 city car and one new version of its Panda minicar.

Altavilla describes the plan as part of the company's goal of returning to profitability in the EMEA region in 2015. The Italian newspaper doesn't say where the five new models would be manufactured.

Altavilla also tells Corriere della Serra that Fiat is within weeks of finalizing a new partnership deal in Russia. He offered no specifics.
