Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV confirms its headquarters will be in London.

Fiat is based in Turin, and Chrysler is headquartered outside Detroit. Analysts says choosing a neutral location to house corporate operations for the merged companies is a good idea.

Fiat completed its deal to take full control of Chrysler five months ago. The merger that creates FCA is expected to be finalized by year-end.

"It's clear that group executive functions, the board, my office and some of my functions need to operate out of London," CEO Sergio Marchionne tells reporters in the U.S. But he adds, "We will do stuff everywhere."

Marchionne reiterates that creating an FCA headquarters in London will have virtually no impact on staff jobs in Italy or the U.S.

FCA's stock will have its primary listing in New York City and a secondary listing in Milan. The company will be registered in the Netherlands and declare England as its tax domicile.
