The plant makes vans sold as the Citroen Jumper, Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer. Under terms of the extension, the plant will add Opel/Vauxhall iterations of the vans and hike its annual output this year by 50,000 units to about 350,000 vans, according to the partners.
PSA and Fiat have been co-producing vans for 40 years. The facility, which currently employs about 6,200 people, describes itself as Europe’s largest and most flexible commercial vehicle assembly complex.
