Federal-Mogul Recruits New Co-CEO

Federal-Mogul Corp. has hired Kevin Freeland, COO of Advance Auto Parts Inc., to become the supplier's co-CEO and head of its aftermarket components unit on June 17.

Freeland has been COO of the Roanoke, Va.-based aftermarket retailer since January 2009. He previously spent eight years at consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co. in a series of purchasing and marketing roles.

Freeland will replace Michael Broderick, who joined Federal-Mogul last June as co-CEO and aftermarket business chief after the company spit its operations into two units. Broderick, who was previously president of auto aftermarket distributor Carquest, will leave Federal-Mogul.

Rainer Jueckstock, head of Federal-Mogul's powertrain unit, will continue to serve as the company's other co-CEO.
