Federal-Mogul Plans to Move HQ

Federal-Mogul Corp. plans to move its headquarters and 650-700 employees to Farmington Hills, Mich., next year from the nearby suburb of Southfield, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

The company has occupied its current home office since 1966.

Federal-Mogul confirms to the newspaper that it is negotiating to lease a new headquarters building but declines to disclose the location. The company says it needs only half the 360,000 sq ft of space in its current building.

An unidentified source tells Crain's that the new site is 180,000 sq feet in size.
