Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has withdrawn its initial claim that the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL SUV will make a remarkable 368 hp.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has withdrawn its initial claim that the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL SUV will make a remarkable 368 hp.
FCA reported that number to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration earlier this year. This week it refiled its application and changed the engine’s output to NR for not-rated.
Both the initial post and its retraction were first reported by TheTruthAboutCars.com. The website opines that the 368-hp figure was probably a typo but suggests the engine will produce a still-hefty 300 hp.
