Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV plans to add two crossover models to it Alfa Romeo brand, according to CEO Sergio Marchionne.
Alfa debuted its first crossover, the Stelvio (pictured), at the Los Angeles auto show in November and is introducing it in Europe now. The car, which shares its platform with Alfa’s midsize Giulia sport sedan, will reach U.S. dealerships this summer.
Marchionne says the two additional crossovers will be positioned below and above the Stelvio, reports Italy’s Corriere della Sera. The first of the new models will go into production at about the end of next year.
Alfa said in January it has scrapped plans to introduce a Giulia-based wagon at next month’s Geneva auto show because the car too closely resembles the Stelvio.
