Faurecia SA and Liuzhou Wuling Automotive Industry Co. have formed a company to make and supply automotive emission control systems in China.
The 50:50 joint venture, Faurecia (Liuzhou) Emissions Control Technologies Co., will incorporate the emission control systems currently produced by four Wuling Automotive-owned factories in Chongqing, Liudong, Liuzhou and Qingdao.
Faurecia and Wuling Automotive say the venture will begin by supplying components to SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co. and its subsidiaries. The partners predict the new venture will generate annual sales of 600 million yuan ($86 million) by 2023.
The partners launched a jointly owned company in mid-2017 to supply seating to SAIC-GM-Wuling. They expanded their alliance four months later with a second venture to make automotive interiors to the same customer.
