Supplier Faurecia SA will build a North American headquarters and technical center near Detroit that is set to open in the first quarter of 2014, Crain's Detroit Business reports.
The newspaper, which cites the building's developer, says the new offices will house Faurecia's regional executives, an administrative staff of 700 and light manufacturing operations. The company apparently does not currently have a North American headquarters.
Faurecia already has U.S. factories and an R&D center in the country for each of its units: emissions controls, interiors, seating and exteriors. The company is 57.4% owned by PSA Peugeot Citroen, which formed a product-development alliance with General Motors Co. just over a year ago.
