French vehicle interiors supplier Faurecia SA reveals it was recently awarded its biggest single contract ever: a deal to supply seating for more than 6 million BMW Group vehicles.

Faurecia will supply complete seats for seven of the carmaker’s models, plus seat structures for 10 model variants that use the Mini and BMW 2 Series platforms. All products will be delivered to BMW factories on a just-in-time basis.

The term and value of the agreement were not disclosed. But Faurecia notes that its order intake rose by €9 billion ($11.1 billion) to €53 billion ($65.1 billion), including the BMW contract, in 2015-2017.

Seating and interior systems account for nearly three-quarters of Faurecia’s annual revenue. The company describes itself as the world’s largest supplier of seat frames and mechanisms.
