Equity Firm Buys U.K. Transmission Specialist

Inflexion Private Equity has agreed to buy Xtrac Ltd, the British maker of high-performance transmissions for motorsports and supercars.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Xtrac’s management team, including managing director Adrian Moore, is expected to remain with the company.

Inflexion says it plans to expand Xtrac’s business by investing in new equipment and adding employees in the U.K. and U.S. The U.K.-based investment firm also is targeting growth in Xtrac’s hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
