Dongfeng Motor Group and Guangzhou Automobile Group have joined Zhejiang Geely Holding in denying any “current plans” to acquire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

All three Chinese carmakers are on a list of four companies that Automotive News says are evaluating the merits of making a bid for FCA. The fourth company, which has not yet commented, is Great Wall.

AN says one of the four candidates submitted an offer to FCA earlier this month that was turned down. None of the denials to date specifically rules out an eventual bid, which is keeping speculation alive that at least one proposal is being developed.
