DOE Offers $9 Million to Fund Fuel-Cell Demo Projects

The U.S. Dept. of Energy is seeking to fund several projects that demonstrate fuel-cell and hydrogen fueling technologies for vehicles and backup power units.
The $9 million initiative is looking for proposals involving:
- Fuel-cell hybrid systems for medium-duty trucks
- Hydrogen refueling systems
- Fuel-cell backup power units that can be mounted on building rooftops
The DOE program also will fund research work to develop accurate metering systems for dispensed hydrogen fuel.
The agency is looking for projects that can be completed in two years or less. Average grants under the program will be about $500,000. Further details are available HERE. The deadline for applications is July 11.
