FCA Revs Up Octogenarian Mopar Brand with Custom Dodge Challengers

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is readying a pair limited edition, hand-painted and customized Dodge Challenger sport coupes in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the company’s Mopar parts brand.

The Mopar models, which will sticker for about $57,000, will be available this spring. Sales will be limited to 80 units for each of the two color options: Pitch Black/Contusion Blue and Pitch Black/ Silver.

The customized Challengers will be powered by a 6.4-liter V-8 engine that makes 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, the engine is enhanced by a “shaker” hood, air scoops and headlight-mounted cold air intake borrowed from Dodge’s high-output Hellcat Challengers.

The vehicles also will feature Mopar badging and trim inside and out and special identification to indicate a vehicle's place within the 80-car run of each color. Dodge also offered limited-edition Mopar Challengers in 2010 and 2014.
