Dassault Systemes SA has agreed to acquire Apriso Corp., a Long Beach, Calif.-based provider of manufacturing management software, for $205 million in cash. The companies expect the deal to be completed in July.
Apriso says the merger will replace its venture capital investors and enable the company to maintain recent years of strong growth.
Dassault says Apriso's production management tools will be integrated with its own Delmia portfolio of manufacturing software. The French company says the deal also will help extend its 3-D design and product lifecycle management software into new markets.
Apriso serves a broad array of industries, including such transportation sector companies as Bombardier, Cummins, General Motors, Valeo and Volvo Construction Equipment.
