Ohio-based Dana Inc. has agreed to acquire the power transmission and fluid power operations of Italy’s Brevini Group SpA in a deal worth as much as €325 million ($345 million).

Dana supplies drivetrain, sealing and thermal management systems for cars, trucks and off-road vehicles. Brevini employs 2,300 people in China, Germany and Italy who make planetary hub drives, hydraulic systems and electronic controls. Dana plans to buy 80% of the Brevini businesses by early 2017 with an option to acquire the remaining 20% by 2020. The deal includes Dana’s assumption of about €100 million ($106 million) in Brevini debt.
