Dana Inc. has completed the acquisition of the Drive Systems segment of Switzerland’s Oerlikon Group. The $600 million deal was announced last August.

Dana says the acquisition increases its capabilities in electrification systems and expands its manufacturing presence in China, India and the U.S. The former Oerlikon unit produces electric motor systems, controls, precision gears, planetary hub drives and software for passenger, commercial and tracked vehicles.

Founded in 1919, Oerlikon Drive Systems generated revenue of 730 million francs ($730 million) in 2017. The business operates 12 manufacturing plants and four research and development facilities.
