Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Nordresa’s co-founders—CEO Sylvain Castonguay and chief technology officer Marc Daigneault—will join Dana’s electrification group in unspecified capacities.
Based near Montreal, Nordresa provides battery-management systems, electric powertrain controls and integration expertise for e-powertrains. Earlier this year the company partnered with Dana to integrate an e-axle on the Isuzu N-Series chassis for commercial fleet applications.
Toledo, Ohio-based Dana, which makes drivelines for light trucks and commercial vehicles, has made a series of acquisitions in the last two years to expand its electrification capabilities. Recent deals include buying the drive systems unit of Oerlikon and SME Group’s motors and inverter business. Dana also bought a controlling stake in TM4, which produces motors and inverters.
