The sporty compact is intended to attract young buyers to the Mercedes-Benz brand. The model is likely to be priced at about $32,000 for the front-wheel-drive version and about $34,000 for the all-wheel-drive model, according to Automotive News. The sporty five-door will compete with the Infiniti FX35, BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

The powerplant delivers 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
