Daimler AG is preparing to recall 252,900 Mercedes-Benz C-Class luxury cars whose taillights may dim or stop working.

The U.S. campaign will cover certain 2008-2011 model C300, C350 and C63 AMG cars built between January 2007 and July 2011. The company also will recall about 31,000 cars in Canada.

Mercedes dealers will replace bulb holders in the affected cars. Daimler says it won't have enough parts to begin the repairs until August or September.
