Daimler Names Daum to Head Truck, Bus Units

Daimler AG has name Martin Daum to the management board as head of the company’s Daimler Truck and Daimler Buses divisions. The five-year appointment begins on March 1.

He succeeds Wolfgang Bernhard, 56, who quit less than three weeks ago after serving three years in the post.

Daum, 57, has been president and CEO of Daimler’s North American truck operations since mid-2009. Previously he was a manager with Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Europe. He joined the company as a trainee in 1987 and previously served as vice president of production at the Mercedes truck plant in Woerth, Germany.
