Vehicle production in the Czech Republic is expected to grow by about 50,000 units to a record 1.4 million units in 2018, says the CTK news agency.
CTK, which cites figures from the country’s auto industry association, reports that output climbed 5% to 1.31 million vehicles in January-November. Passenger cars account for all but about 7,000 units of the total.
The Czech Republic hosts three automotive final assembly plants, with Volkswagen AG’s Skoda unit contributing the greatest output. The other facilities are operated by Hyundai and a PSA-Toyota venture.
