Cross-Brand Applications Likely for Alfa Platform

The architecture, which carries Alfa Romeo’s Giulia sedan and Stelvio crossover vehicle, could be adapted for both higher- and lower-end applications, Reid Bigland, who heads FCA’s Alfa and Maserati units, told journalists last week at the Los Angeles auto show. Boasting that the platform provides best-in-class driving dynamics, Bigland says it will be difficult to keep it exclusive to Alfa Romeo.
Alfa Romeo plans to use the Giorgi for at least six more vehicles, ranging from a compact hatchback to a large sedan. Media reports suggest that Dodge and Maserati as other potential benefactors.
