Commercial Truck Sales Jump 13%

Registrations of commercial trucks and buses across Europe climbed to 130,600 units in February from 115,500 a year earlier, industry group ACEA reports.

Sales of commercial vans rose 12% to 107,200 vehicles, and demand for heavy trucks surged 20% to 16,500 units last month. Bus sales advanced 8% to 2,000 units.

Volumes improved in every major market. Commercial vehicle sales gained in France (+3% to 34,000 units), Germany (+20% to 21,800), the U.K. (+16% to 13,400), Italy (+13% to 10,200) and Spain (+49% to 9,600).

Sales for the first two months of 2014 increased 8% to 268,000 units, according to ACEA.
